Welcome to Champ
These Terms are an agreement between you and Champ (“Champ”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the Champ app on iPhone and Android and to playchamp.io (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Champ.
Champ is a game, not gambling
Champ is a free-to-play social prediction game. Every “bet”, “stake”, “pot” and “prize” in Champ uses virtual coins.
- Virtual coins and diamonds have no real-world value. They can’t be cashed out, withdrawn, exchanged for money or prizes, or transferred to other players.
- You can’t win money or anything of monetary value in Champ.
- Doing well in Champ doesn’t mean you’ll do well at real-money gambling.
Who can play
- You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to accept these Terms where you live.
- You may only use Champ where it is legal for you to do so.
- One account per person. Accounts are personal - don’t share, sell or transfer them.
Your account
- Sign in with Google, Facebook, Apple (on iPhone) or your email. Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe - you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your username and display name must not impersonate anyone, be offensive, or infringe anyone’s rights. We may change or remove names that break these rules.
- Tell us right away at playchamp.dev@gmail.com if you think someone else is using your account.
How bets and competitions work
- Single matches and tournaments. You or a friend create a bet on a real match (or a run of matches), choose the challenges, and set the coin stake. Everyone who joins puts in the same stake.
- Challenges and points. Each challenge (for example winning side, exact score, total corners, total fouls) is worth points. The player with the most points wins the pot; ties and tournament standings are decided by the rules shown in the app.
- Match data. Results come from third-party sports data providers. If data is delayed, wrong or later corrected, we may correct results, points and pots.
- Leaving and cancellations. If you leave a competition before it starts, your stake is returned. If you leave after it starts, your stake is forfeited. If a match is cancelled, abandoned or can’t be settled, the competition may be voided and stakes returned.
- Random opponents. When you choose a random opponent and no player is available, you may be matched with a computer-controlled player.
- Champ tournaments. We may run official tournaments with extra coin prizes funded by us. Their specific rules are shown in the app.
Virtual items and purchases
- Coins, diamonds, boosters and other virtual items are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use them in Champ. You don’t own them, and they have no value outside the game.
- You can earn coins by playing (winning pots, daily streaks, daily tasks, inviting friends) or buy them in Jack’s Shop.
- Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are also governed by their terms. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by law or by Apple’s or Google’s refund policies. If a store refunds a purchase, we may remove the items it bought.
- We may change prices, rewards, items and the in-game economy, and we may correct balances that result from errors or abuse.
- Unused coins, diamonds and items are lost if your account is deleted or closed.
Rewards, streaks and referrals
Daily streak rewards, chests, Streak Freezes, daily tasks and referral bonuses are promotions. We may change or end them at any time. Rewards gained through fake accounts, automation or other abuse (for example, inviting yourself) may be removed.
Playing fair
You agree not to:
- cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts or modified versions of the app;
- create multiple accounts or fake accounts to collect rewards or influence competitions;
- buy, sell or trade accounts, coins or items outside the app;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content in chats, names or anywhere else;
- spam, advertise, or collect other players’ information;
- interfere with, reverse engineer or try to gain unauthorised access to the Service.
Report players or messages in the app or by email. We may remove content, mute chat, reset balances, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Your content
You keep ownership of the messages and names you post, and you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use them to run the Service. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share.
Friends, contacts and invites
If you import contacts, players whose phone numbers match will be added to your friends list. Only invite people who would want to hear from you. See our Privacy Policy for how contacts are handled.
Our content and trademarks
Champ, its logo, Jack and all game content belong to us or our licensors. Team, league and player names, crests and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify real matches. Champ is not affiliated with or endorsed by any league, club or player.
Third-party services
Champ relies on services such as Apple, Google, Facebook and our sports data providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of their services, and we aren’t responsible for them.
Apple devices
If you use Champ on an Apple device, these Terms are between you and Champ, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Champ and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes and availability
We keep improving Champ, so features, sports, leagues and rewards may change, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these Terms; if the changes are significant we’ll tell you in the app. Continuing to play after an update means you accept the new Terms.
Suspension and closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account (see Account deletion). We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or the law, or to protect players or the Service.
Disclaimers
Champ is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that match data will always be accurate or on time. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Champ is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for the loss of virtual items. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
